VALENTINE'S DAY GLAMOUR PHOTO SESSIONS:
Our luxurious 2 hour make over and photo shoot has been reduced from $400 down to an amazing $125 per person (prints are additional)
All pictures are retouched and enhanced of course which makes them even more stunning and a pleasure on the eye. Perhaps they may wind the clock back a few years, but we haven't found anyone having a problem with that. We are often asked if we can do it in "real life" and believe me we wish we could.
FAMILY PORTRAIT SESSIONS at present we have a half price Photography Fee for Christmas which is $80 instead of the usual $160.
Then there is our trusty TODDLER TUESDAY promotion. This has a Photography fee of $65 instead of the usual $100.. .. that's got to be good. The Toddler Tuesday sittings do not have to be done on a Tuesday, we will fit in with your diary the best we can. These are lovely character studies that can be printed in colour, black & white or toned. Prints can be printed as single images or as a collage. Stunning modern simplistic images.
Shotz Photography Star Kids 2009
A big thank you goes out to all those lovely babies and children who took part in Shotz Photography’s Star Kids promotion 2009.
The Shotz Photography Star Kids promotion takes place every February - these portrait shoots are free. The age of the children taking part is babies – 5 years. We shared nibbles and drinks with them, they gave us a good time sharing dribbles, laughs, tears and the odd oops-e-daisy which was quickly dealt with and all perfectly natural.
We were fortunate enough to photograph children who were a bit more independent and those who couldn’t stand alone but will be able to now. We photographed a builder, lots of ballet dancers, some fairies, a dinosaur, one set of twin babies with their older sister, mums grandmas and their grandchildren, a beautiful expressive clever wee girl with her gingerbread man, a cutie with his skateboard and teddy, lovely colourful children in colourful clothes, an angel, a bumble bee, a wee girl from the Ferrari pit crew, girls with pony tails or head bands, boys with attitude and gusto, dancing poppets, caring siblings, and a very newborn baby who we popped in a drawer for his session while he had a snooze.
A large canvas banner was printed and displayed at the Dunedin Woman’s Expo that was held in October. We look forward to photographing the Shotz Photography Star Kids 2010 and huge thanks again for all those who took part. We will keep you on the email list to see if you would like to do it again next time.
Wanaka Adventures
Take some lovely ladies, add a make over artist and a photographer and presto you have a beautiful location and a day of laughter and fun – not to mention the amazing weather!!
We headed over to sunny Wanaka, car loaded to the brim with furniture, backdrop paper, studio lights, tripod, laptop, projector, camera, clothes and food.
Traveling over and setting up on Friday night in a rented house was a lot of fun. Not to leave out the beautiful view the clients enjoyed while experiencing their two hour makeover and photo shoot – right out the window were some lovely trees and of course Lake Wanaka.
Glamour shoots involve clients bringing an assortment of different outfits and jewellery they then relax while being made over. Some times our glamour shoots are the first time some ladies experience having their make up done professionally. They always love it and often wonder why they haven’t done it before; their daughters have often enjoyed this experience for formals but Mums haven’t until they book for one of my glamour shoots.
The ladies experienced a two hour luxurious make over and a fun relaxed photo shoot – wow what a way to make your clients have fun, spend time with loved ones and be photographed in a way they have not had done before.
The best thing about it by us staying for two nights was it gave the lovely ladies and family members a chance to see their photos before we packed up and headed back to Dunedin.
Yours truly also took advantage of the setting and had a new advertising shot done for my new website, taken by my good friend Brenda-Lee. It was taken in the most retro funky bedroom you could imagine. It had amazing planet / moon wall paper, with a cane bed end and a duvet cover that I would love to have. It featured the most amazing fabrics and colours, it certainly added to the atmosphere and was so fun to use.
So yes my new publicity shot features the funky retro room, and yes it is true photographers don’t like getting their photo taken either, it is very foreign for us also but the key is to relax and be guided by the person behind the camera. A lot of laughing helps too, unfortunately it does make the mascara run, but hey that can be fixed. Life is short – enjoy what you have when you have it. It’s a hoot.
So there goes the weekend, arriving back home after cramming the car full again with all the props and equipment, managing to make room for some fresh veg and a real fruit ice cream arriving home to our normal lives and putting on the mother hood hat again at 8.30pm Sunday night.
